Video footage has emerged showing a person

Video footage has emerged showing a person forcing their 6-year-old son to run on a treadmill to combat "obesity" before the child's death due to severe mistreatment. According to the Daily Mail, 31-year-old Christopher Gregor appeared in court on Tuesday, facing charges of murder following the 2021 death of his son, Corey Mitcholo, as a result of severe trauma after years of abuse.

The video, which circulated on social media, was filmed in a New Jersey gym and shows the child repeatedly falling off the treadmill while the father lifts him up and forces him to continue running.

In the video presented during the trial, the treadmill was set at a speed far beyond the young child's capabilities, causing him to be thrown off the machine multiple times. He was seen crawling back to attempt running again.

The young child did not appear to be obese in the circulated video.

Following a visit to the gym, the boy's mother, who shared custody with the father, noticed injuries on her son and reported them to a child protection and welfare specialist.

During the medical examination, the child revealed that his father forced him to run on the treadmill "because he was too fat," according to his father's perception.

The next day, the father rushed the young child to the hospital after he woke up from a nap, stumbling and experiencing speech difficulties, nausea, and shortness of breath.

Medical staff performed a CT scan, which revealed that Corey had suffered a seizure.

The medical team took necessary measures to save his life, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and the young child passed away.

Preliminary autopsy results indicated that Corey died as a result of severe injuries, with bruises on his heart and liver, along with inflammation and infection.

In the wake of her son's death, the mother created a dedicated Facebook page called "Justice for Corey" to raise awareness about his case.

At the time, she wrote, "I created this group to fight for justice for my son Corey Mitcholo. He was only 6 years old when his life was taken by someone who was supposed to care for and love him."

If convicted of mistreatment leading to his son's death, the father is likely to face a life sentence.
